Can Summer Health treat urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Standard of care in pediatrics is to begin treatment for a suspected UTI after a urine culture sample has been collected. This needs to be done at a clinic or lab. Our pediatricians cannot prescribe antibiotics without the culture sample collected, even if there is an at-home urine test suggesting possible UTI. However, our pediatricians can help you determine if your child should be seen in person to have this test done.
